Falling Asleep at the Wheel of Misfortune
By Harrison Taylor
Our passion is a mountain and your love is a hill
We're those kids who get cheap thrills from expensive pills
My hands are still damp from wiping your tears
Letting them dry is one of my biggest fears
And I know you're crying tonight
Letting his shit get to you, that boy with hazel eyes
Now let's get together and sing that out of tune song
Treasure the last moment we'll be creative, different, and young
My world becomes cold when we're not together
And now, I'm afraid, this winter may last forever
But I think I took your love at an unhealthy portion
Because I'm falling asleep at the wheel of misfortune
Letting my mind run free into the night
Without an end anywhere in sight
So if you see my thoughts somewhere in the dark
Tell them to come the fuck back to my heart
And I know you're crying tonight
Letting his shit get to you, that boy with hazel eyes
Now let's get together and sing that out of tune song
Treasure the last moment we'll be creative, different, and young
Set your sights on sights less subdued
And when you're tired, alone
And desperate for desperation-
Take pause.
And take quick shot at the image of misery
Will you be the talk of the ages, or just a footnote in history?
And I know you're crying tonight
Letting his shit get to you, that boy with hazel eyes
Now let's get together and sing that out of tune song
Treasure the last moment we'll be creative, different, and young
I did some edits from the original, so here's the final draft.

Nicely done. Moving, original, and hurting of truth.
